In 'Undercover' Irving Krutch is played by Ed Begley Jr. Lt. Columbo is plunged into a baffling case when he investigates the peculiar deaths of two men, leading him to uncover a mystery surrounding the missing loot from a bank robbery that was never solved. Insurance investigator Irving Krutch enlists Columbo's aid in locating the components of a photograph that will reveal the whereabouts of the hidden millions. To obtain the pieces from the people who now possess them, Columbo must adopt various personas and go undercover. However, as he delves deeper into the case, more than one of these individuals is killed. Unusual episode.
Ed Begley Jr. is an American actor and environmental activist known for his work in film, television, and theater. He was born on September 16, 1949, in Los Angeles, California, and grew up in a family of performers. His father, Ed Begley, was also an actor. Begley began his career in the late 1960s, appearing in a number of TV shows and films. He is perhaps best known for his roles in the TV series "St. Elsewhere" (1982-1988) and "Arrested Development" (2003-2019), as well as the films "This Is Spinal Tap" (1984) and "Best in Show" (2000).
